Matt Lipan is the Lead Pastor of Gateway and is excited about making a difference in our community. Originally from Michigan, he received his Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary. He enjoys hanging out with his wife and their three kids, being outside, sports, music, writing, and social media. Penny Walker is the Director of Children’s Ministries for Gateway. She has been in full-time ministry for 8 years after leaving a career in sales. She grew up in Lawrence Township and graduated from Lawrence North High School before attending Indiana University. Penny and her husband Brian are the proud parents of their teenage daughter, Lily. In her free time she enjoys reading, going on long walks with her dog, hanging out with family, and cleaning her house. Email Penny.

James Kempson is the Director of Contemporary Worship and Director of Student Ministries for Gateway. He has served as a worship leader for more than a decade and is passionate about contemplative and joyful worship. James graduated from Anderson University with a degree in Elementary Education, holds an Indiana Teaching License and recently earned his Masters in Physical Education and Recreational Management. He is one of twelve children which has given him a heart for working with kids of all ages and he has been able to travel all over the world teaching, coaching, and sharing the gospel. He lives in Fishers with his beautiful wife Tabitha. Email James.

Sally Koumpouras is volunteer staff as Gateway’s Choir Director. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Chris. They have 2 adult children; a daughter living in Indianapolis and a son living in Michigan. Sally received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Ohio Northern University and her MBA from Bowling Green State University. She is recently retired from the Art Institutes as a college recruiter after 10 years and is currently working for Lawrence Township Public Schools. She enjoys music, camping, gardening, theater, cooking, and working with children. Email Sally.
